Refunds & Downloads

How immediate downloads, cancellation rights, technical problems and non-conforming digital content are handled.

Effective 31 August 2026

Legal terms bundle version 2026-08-31

1. Immediate supply

Public Malfunction releases are digital downloads supplied without a physical item. At checkout, you are asked to expressly request and consent to supply beginning immediately and to acknowledge that the normal 14-day cancellation right will be lost once supply begins.

The checkbox is not pre-selected. Checkout cannot be created until the consent and acknowledgement are affirmatively given. The accepted wording, checkbox version, legal terms bundle version and time are recorded with the order and reproduced in the purchase confirmation email.

2. The UK cancellation right

If you are a UK consumer, you normally have 14 days to cancel a distance contract. For digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, that normal cancellation right is lost only when supply begins after you have given prior express consent to immediate supply and acknowledged that the right will be lost.

If those requirements have not been met, this policy does not remove your cancellation rights. Nothing here limits rights available under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 or other applicable consumer law.

3. Faulty, misdescribed or non-conforming content

Loss of the change-of-mind cancellation right does not remove statutory rights. If a download is faulty, cannot be supplied as promised, is misdescribed or otherwise fails to conform to the contract, contact us. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may be entitled to repair or replacement, a price reduction or a refund.

4. Download and access problems

Try My Downloads to obtain fresh access using the purchase email. Private file links are intentionally short-lived, but there is no lifetime download quota for a valid paid purchase. If access still fails, email contact@publicmalfunction.org with the release title and purchase email.

5. Other refund requests

After immediate supply has begun with the required consent and acknowledgement, a refund is not normally due merely because you changed your mind, bought the wrong release or no longer need it. We will still consider duplicate charges, unauthorised transactions and other exceptional circumstances fairly, without limiting statutory rights.

Approved refunds are normally returned through the original payment method. Processing times can depend on Stripe, the card issuer or bank.
